The Event of a Lifetime

The Great Eclipse of August 2, 2027

On the morning of August 2, 2027, the Moon's shadow sweeps across northern Morocco — one of the longest total solar eclipses over land this century. We will already be airborne, positioned on the centerline, when day turns to night.

100%
Totality

We stage our launch field inside the path of totality — not near it, in it.

4+ min
of Darkness

Nearly five minutes of totality over northern Morocco — among the longest land totalities since 1991.

360°
Sunset Horizon

From altitude, the Moon's shadow races toward you and a sunset glows in every direction at once.

1st
And Only

Few humans have ever watched totality from an open balloon basket. Fewer still above Morocco.

Ten Days · All-Inclusive

Celestial Magic & Imperial Culture

This is not an eclipse-day drive-in. It is a full Moroccan expedition — flying, feasting, and wandering the medinas — that crescendos on eclipse morning.

  1. Days 1–2

    Arrival & Marrakech

Land in Marrakech. Riad check-in, welcome dinner in the medina, equipment logistics for pilots, and a sunrise shakedown flight over the palm groves.

  2. Days 3–5

    Atlas & Desert Flying

Dawn flights over kasbahs, foothills, and dunes with mountain backdrops. Afternoons: souks, Berber villages, hammams, and long Moroccan lunches.

  3. Days 6–7

    North to the Path

A scenic transfer north through the imperial cities. Guided exploration, rooftop dinners, and a group briefing on the eclipse-day flight plan.

  4. Day 8

    Positioning & Rehearsal

Practice flight from the eclipse launch field inside the path of totality. Weather briefings, timing rehearsal, and alternate-site planning.

  5. Aug 2

    Totality Flight

Pre-dawn launch. We are aloft as first contact begins, in the sky as the shadow arrives, and floating in darkness at totality. Champagne landing — a ballooning tradition since 1783 — under the returning Sun.

  6. Days 9–10

    Celebration & Farewell

Celebration feast, storytelling, and a farewell flight for those who can't get enough. Departures from Casablanca or Marrakech.

Sample itinerary — final routing and launch sites are confirmed with registered guests and are always subject to weather and flight authorization.

Two Ways to Fly

Pilots & Passengers

For Pilots — Bring Your Balloon

Fly your own equipment over Morocco and log a totality flight almost no pilot alive can claim. We handle the hard parts:

  • Container shipping coordination for envelopes, baskets & burners
  • Moroccan flight authorizations, permits & airspace coordination
  • Propane sourcing and refueling at every launch site
  • Experienced local crew, chase vehicles & retrieve
  • Daily met briefings and eclipse-morning timing plan
  • Dedicated pilot liaison from customs to final pack-up

For Passengers — Just Step In

No experience needed. You ride with seasoned, licensed pilots — your only job is to look up. Every detail on the ground is handled:

  • A basket seat on every flight, including the totality flight
  • Hand-picked riads & hotels, all meals and mint tea included
  • All ground transport, guides & medina excursions
  • Eclipse glasses, briefings & keepsake flight certificate
  • Champagne toast after the eclipse landing
  • Small group — this is an expedition, not a tour bus
